There have been some new abliteration techniques that have been developed lately that preserve more of the original model's intelligence than traditional methods, such as heretic and norm-preserving biprojected abliteration. It was noted in this reddit thread that GLM-4.5 Air would typically refuse to act as a human until it was abliterated.

Perhaps that sort of refusal leaks into RP in subtle ways? If you do decide to revisit glm air, it might be worthwhile to try finetuning over one of these new abliterated models rather than the stock model. Maybe it'd help get rid of that "assistant feel".

Yep did some testing and I generally prefer derestricted over regular air, although I do think there's some wonkiness with character refusals and repetition that it introduced.

Below is some GGUF's of a test tune if that's of interest. Not sure if I'll release it yet, but I don't think I've harmed the model at least.
